What am I Reading? – Last week I was given an assignment by my PA. I need to read and review four horror novels for Halloween 2020. I picked my books and now I will start reading. Second on the list - Sleep Disorders by Mark Lukens

Twenty-six-year-old Zach Hughes and his wife Michelle were just hoping to have a nice dinner at a restaurant on a Friday evening. As Zach is seated at the table, Michelle goes to the restroom . . . she never comes back.

After a frantic search, the only thing Zach finds is his wife's purse in the bathroom with her keys, money, and cell phone inside. The only witness is an elderly woman who saw Michelle leave with a man. Zach believes his wife was taken.

The police are called, but they get nowhere, believing Michelle left Zach. The next morning, Zach is questioned by two detectives who believe he did something terrible to his wife. With no police help, Zach begins searching for his wife, unearthing clues. As he digs into her past, he finds that she's led a secret life.

Every night since Michelle's disappearance, Zach wakes up to find himself fully dressed, the lights on in his house, and his front door unlocked. Has he been sleepwalking? He's never done that before. Could it be connected to his wife's disappearance? He films himself while he sleeps to see where he goes while sleepwalking, to see what he does.

What he sees on the video scares him to death . . . and it's only the beginning.

What am I Listening to? –  I have discovered Gaia. Yes, it is a TV channel, however, it is also an awesome audio treasure trove. Most of the ‘episodes’ are of someone talking and or explaining a concept and there are rare times where you need to see what they are talking about, so I just listen. My favorite series right now is Rewired by Dr. Joe Dispenza

What Quote am I Pondering? “If you don’t know how to control your emotional reactions and there’s a refractory period, and you let that emotional reaction linger for hours or days, it turns into a mood. So you say to someone, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ The person says, ‘I’m in a mood.’ Then you say, ‘Why are you in a mood?’ They say, ‘Well, this thing happened to me five days ago and I’m having one long emotional reaction.’ If you keep that refractory period going for weeks and months, you’ve developed a temperament. If you keep that same refractory period going on for years, it’s called a personality trait.” — Dr. Joe Dispenza ~ WOW!

What am I Researching? –  Everything. Mostly how to be my best self and live my most authentic life. Sounds easy – actually, it doesn’t, and it’s not. Yet, it is. While the research I am doing is exhausting, confusing and at time frustrating I feel myself growing each day. I am creating my future self now. One step at a time.

Yummy Meal of the Week – This really hasn’t been the week for cooking. That being said, my favorite meal of the week was Spam burgers with Zack. Yes, Spam burgers. Lettuce, tomato, Mayo and a bun. Like it or loathe it, I said YUM!

What did I Learn? – I learned that sometimes it is better to walk away. People have their own baggage to figure out. Their own stuff, and I don’t need to wait, wonder and or be abused while they figure out their shit. Just because you love someone does not mean you have to like them.

What am I Watching? – Game of Thrones. I have given up on watching with my son, he takes too long. I am on Season 4 Ep 7 Mockingbird. Have to say my two favorite characters are Tyrion and The Mother of Dragons.

What am I Reading? –
I was given an assignment by my PA. I need to read and review four horror novels for Halloween 2020. I picked my books and now I will start reading. First up is

All towns have secrets. But none like Netherwell Bay…

‘Sis, I’m in trouble. Real trouble. And I need help.’
After receiving a worrying message from her estranged brother, Beth Davis sets out to find and help him, ending up in the strange, coastal town of Netherwell Bay.
There, she begins to witness terrifying and unexplainable things, and reports of ritualistic murders have the town panicked.
A sinister cult soon makes its presence known, and the dark history of Netherwell Bay is unveiled. Beth then finds herself in a race against time to stop a doorway to Hell from opening… permanently.
The Netherwell Horror is a Lovecraftian mystery that quickly descends into madness, sickening violence, and chaos. Fans of Silent Hill will love this nightmarish tale, but those of a squeamish disposition need not apply…

What am I Listening to? –  Five Second Rule by Mel Robbins. Yes, I know I talked about this one last week but OMG. It is changing my life. Seriously! I am so going to need to purchase this book. (I have the audiobook) LOL.

What Quote am I Pondering? – “Leadership is Action, not Position.” Don’t preach to me about what you are doing to do – do it. Just because you are in charge doesn’t mean you are gonna do squat.

What am I Researching? –  Luxury living in Atlanta. Turns out one of the most expensive places to live in Georgia is Buckhorn. I was researching locations for Stupid Car. Jess, my MC has an apartment in Atlanta. He is a millionaire, so we need some serious swank and I think I found it at the Sutton. Wowzah! I could live here for a bit with no problem.

Yummy Meal of the Week – Family Nachos – Layer of chips. Layer of beef (ground beef cooked with mild taco seasoning), Layer of Queso (Velveeta Cheese mixed with mild salsa for 5 mins in the microwave) Another Layer of chips, beef and queso. Topped off with chopped tomatoes, scallions and served with sour cream and guacamole on the side. YUM!

What did I Learn? – Working seven days a week is not that bad. I do have to make sure I allow recovery time. The body is not as young as it used to be. 😊

What am I Watching? – So many great shows out there right now. Hollywood has finally shifted gears considering COVID. I already mentioned Southern Survival. There is also The Floor is Lava, did you play this game as a kid? My new retreat – Warrior Nun ~ After waking up in a morgue, an orphaned teen discovers she now possesses superpowers as the chosen Halo Bearer for a secret sect of demon-hunting nuns. ~Oh yes, the show is completely badass, and I love it!

What am I Listening to? –  Guided Meditation, Lots of country music, and The 5 Second Rule: Transform your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage ~ How to enrich your life and destroy doubt in five seconds. ~ Mel Robbins

Throughout your life, you've had parents, coaches, teachers, friends, and mentors who have pushed you to be better than your excuses and bigger than your fears. What if the secret to having the confidence and courage to enrich your life and work is simply knowing how to push yourself?
Using the science of habits, riveting stories, and surprising facts from some of the most famous moments in history, art, and business, Mel Robbins will explain the power of a "push moment". Then, she'll give you one simple tool you can use to become your greatest self.
It takes just five seconds to use this tool, and every time you do you'll be in great company. More than eight million people have watched Mel's TEDx Talk, and executives inside of the world's largest brands are using the tool to increase productivity, collaboration, and engagement.

In The 5 Second Rule, you'll discover it takes just five seconds to:
    Become confident
Break the habit of procrastination and self-doubt
    Beat fear and uncertainty
    Stop worrying and feel happier
    Share your ideas with courage
The 5 Second Rule is a simple, one-size-fits-all solution for the one problem we all face - we hold ourselves back.

What Quote am I Pondering? –  Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

What am I Researching? –  Holiday releases. I have two books scheduled for release this holiday season, so I am watching and browsing lots of romantic holiday titles. Christmas in July!!

Yummy Meal of the Week – Beef Bulgogi (Korean BBQ Beef)

What did I Learn? – I learned, and I am learning what it means to go with the flow. While it the literary meaning is applicable. It can also speak to creativity and life flow. I am a huge fan of pocket and every day there is an article about scheduling, time management and productivity. While I am all about scheduling I am realizing a strict regiment may not be as awesome as I want it to be. We tend to be hard on ourselves if we (I) set up a schedule and then fail to execute. Sometimes it’s better to have a list of important items and get them accomplished as it naturally arises throughout the day. Maybe it is all progressive?

What am I Watching? – My new favorite show is BattlBox - Southern Survival – Outdoor Gear Tested - The BattlBox crew tests out products designed to help people survive dangerous situations, including explosions, natural disasters and intruders. Watch it, totally worth it!

What am I Reading? – The Final Wars Begin (Final Wars Trilogy Book 1) by S. A. Asthana ~ ONE MAN SETS IN MOTION THE COLLAPSE OF CIVILIZATION. It's 2209. World War III has left humanity fragmented. Three colonies survive, each on a different world - Earth supports New Paris, its moon has become Nippon One, and Mars has Port Sydney. Trade and tensions bind them, keeping peace balanced on the edge of a precipice. A cruel dictator rages on one world. A failed experiment plunges another into financial ruin. Diplomatic pressures bear down on the third. All it would take is for one man to tip everything over into conflict.

ENTER BASTIEN LYONS. A man on the run, Bastien's moral compass has made him a fugitive in the colonies. The odds against his escape are stacked high - a military robot built to erase outlaws hunts him. So do bounty hunters. What's worse: Bastien finds himself caught in a deadly political chess match between Earth and Mars. He must not only outwit those threats but also create alliances to live. In doing so, Bastien will push the world towards...THE FINAL WARS.

What am I Listening to? –  Music, lots and lots of music. I’ve found music is really my fantastic creative base and also my center calm. Everything from the Bee-Gee’s to Adele to Metallica. I am all over the place and loving it.

What Quote am I Pondering? –  "Creativity is intelligence having fun."

What am I Researching? –  I am still all about the DIY zone. Watching videos on reusing cardboard boxes, wooden pallets, old clothes, old towels, decoupage, and fabric painting. I bought a sketchbook and have been planning projects. Not sure where it is all coming from, but reuse is less waste, right??

Yummy Meal of the Week – Okay this week I do not have a meal per-say but more of a drink. Pretty simple but I am addicted. Strawberry Sprite @ Sonic. I limit myself to one a day and OMG I am hooked. I have to add, by using the Sonic app to order ahead all of the drinks are ½ price ALL THE TIME!

What did I Learn? – This week wasn’t as dramatic as last week. I did learn, however, it is okay to be spastic and all over the place. To follow where the creative brain leads. I always get it all done. No need to panic mid flow.

What am I Watching? – Finished Grey’s Anatomy and finished Dead To Me (On Netflix) both were amazing. Love it! If you have not seen Dead To Me, and or if you have kinda looked at it but not pushed PLAY please do it! So worth it. ~ Jen's husband recently died in a hit-and-run, and the sardonic widow is determined to solve the crime. Optimistic free spirit Judy has recently suffered a tragic loss of her own. The ladies meet at a support group and, despite their polar-opposite personalities, become unlikely friends. As the women bond over bottles of wine and a shared affinity for "The Facts of Life," Judy tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it. The dark comedy -- which explores the weirdly funny sides of grief, loss and forgiveness -- features a cast that includes TV veterans Christina Applegate and Ed Asner.

What am I Reading? –

PS It's Always Been You: A Second Chance Romance by Lauren Blakely ~ A sweeping, second chance standalone romance!

I was pretty good at living without regrets until a way too close call during a skydive. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw one face, one regret that’s been gnawing at me ever since—Presley. The woman I loved madly ten years ago. The woman I had to walk away from.

At first, all I want is to sort out why I can’t get her out of my head. But as soon as I see Presley again, I know I have to win her back at any cost. Brilliant, captivating and utterly beautiful, she’s the one I want.

Fate steps in when we’re asked to pair up to find a treasure in art and antiques. It’s an opportunity I can’t pass up—to uncover a path back to the woman I let get away while we chase down a love story a hundred years in the making.

Trouble is, Presley is tougher now, more wary, and she’s been hurt. By me. So it's going to take a whole lot more than one hot kiss and a wild adventure together to convince her to give me a second chance.

What am I Listening to? –  Trying out a new meditation Program so that is interesting. Created by Jake Ducey here is the website so check it out! How would you like to hit the reset button and re-wire your mind to attract better health, abundant wealth, more love and everlasting gratitude? If that sounds appealing, you're in the right place!

What Quote am I Pondering? “Most of us are busy gambling on the most dangerous risk of all—living our whole life not doing what we want on the bet that we can buy the freedom to do it later.” – Jake Ducey

What am I Researching? –

So many DIY projects! My creative brain has been in overdrive lately. It is mostly centered around the house and the living room. I am really trying to simplify things as much as possible and our current couch takes up the entire room. Now, I know what I WANT but good lord everything is so expensive. I am – as you know—the creative type so I am researching how to build my own couch! Seriously! Here are a few pics of what I am thinking about and I am kinda stoked.

Yummy Meal of the Week –

Taco Salad!! With LOTS of avocado because it is brain food and I need all the good stuff I can get!
What did I Learn? –

I admit, this question is always the one I do last, because I really must think about it. I learn so much every week. Being a Mom, a corporate professional, author, coach, daughter, friend, etc. and what the best choice with the biggest impact.

This lesson stems from an active, lively and passionate debate last night. The dueling of opinion, ideology and perception versus reality was invigorating. The topic involved two flags. I am not going to go into the debate itself however, in retrospect I am re-evaluating what it personally means to me to be an American. More to come!

What am I Watching? – Been catching up on Grey’s Anatomy. I am halfway through the current season (I think it is season 17). I am still so in love with these characters and Shondra Rhimes as a creator. Love it. While I have been on the fence with some of her other productions, Grey’s will forever be in my All-Time Top 10!!

What am I Reading? – Putting this one to the three-chapter test! –

A Voice that Thunders by Cully Mack

A BROTHER A BROTHER DESTINED * A SISTER CLAIMED

A GOD WHO CAME BETWEEN THEM

Mirah watched her brother Gabe place his inky hand on the rock shelter wall and transition into manhood. Needing no one outside their small clan, freedom and friendship promised a peaceful future. That was life until the god, Shemyaza, sent his sons to slaughter them all.

Of those who survived, Mirah is captured and Gabe is missing.

United with a host of Giants, and Chimera, Shemyaza has one enemy, the destined Voice of Thunder. In a bid to destroy him, Shemyaza is building an army of Wielders and insists Mirah joins them.

Through magic, Mirah gains secrets. As she attempts to hide her powers and the mystery behind her wielding, Shemyaza’s stepson offers to train her but can she trust him with her heart?

Her old and new world collide and Mirah is torn. War is coming. Whichever path she chooses Mirah knows the Shadow is near, and only she can hear it whisper.

A Voice That Thunders is the first in an epic fantasy series set in the ancient past when monsters crept into our world, myth was born, and magic first breathed.

What am I Listening to?The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You By: David Wilcock Narrated by: David Wilcock

Using history, astrology, and synchronicity theory as well as concepts such as fractals, spiritual geometry, quantum physics, and other new research, Wilcock shows that there is a hidden architecture within time....

Okay I was really looking forward to this one but it is dragging… I am thinking Audible books should have the same testing method – Three Chapters. We shall see what happens

What Quote am I Pondering? – Synchronicity is an ever-present reality for those who have eyes to see it. ~ Carl Jung

What am I Researching?
– Lots of stuff about Atlanta and the Knights of the Golden Circle. The more I dig the more interesting it becomes. Starting to be a cool rabbit hole. All in service of my WIP Stupid car that went from a short romance to a full-blown novel. My muse is speaking--- constantly!

Yummy Meal of the Week – Street Tacos! I treated myself this week with some amazing street tacos from a local restaurant. I can only eat four at a time and they are tiny! YUM!!

What did I Learn? – I learned it is okay to process change, but at the same time you have to change. I was processing everything that has happened, but it wasn’t until I got off my butt and changed my routine that I got my groove back. Change is a mindset, but it is also an active sport! If you are struggling with change, do something different. Tear down the walls and start over. It helps! It’s like fine… things have to change might as well go for it full throttle!

What am I Watching?
– Game of Thrones was a favorite this week. I am starting Season Three. Love it. My favorite characters (for which I didn’t think I would like going into it) are Tyrion Lannister & Daenerys Targaryen. I am hooked.

What am I Reading? -

Origin by Dan Brown – I finally finished it! Yes!! – Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology, arrives at the ultramodern Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever.” The evening’s host is Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old billionaire and futurist, and one of Langdon’s first students.

But the meticulously orchestrated evening suddenly erupts into chaos, and Kirsch’s precious discovery teeters on the brink of being lost forever. Facing an imminent threat, Langdon is forced to flee. With him is Ambra Vidal, the elegant museum director who worked with Kirsch. They travel to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.

Navigating the dark corridors of hidden history and extreme religion, Langdon and Vidal must evade an enemy whose all-knowing power seems to emanate from Spain’s Royal Palace. They uncover clues that ultimately bring them face-to-face with Kirsch’s shocking discovery…and the breathtaking truth that has long eluded us.

What am I Listening to? – Hooked on the Classics – This is an albumn my parents had when I was a kid and I loved it. All classical works with a little bit of a rock tempo. Wahoo. Great for cleaning!
What Quote am I Pondering? “Living well is the best revenge!” – George Herbert

What am I Researching? – Fences – I have a big dog with PTSD and my neighbor has three little yippie dogs. There is a fence, a metal fence. Right now, we cannot have the dogs out at the same time without chaos ensuing. Barking, running etc. This is normally not a problem except they al run along the fence which is a huge puddle. My theory is if I can create a visual barrier it will subdue everyone. My neighbor agrees. I am looking into a way to make this happen. I have a few ideas. I will keep you posted!

Yummy Meal of the Week –

Baked fruit – a layer of apples, bananas, pears and blueberries. Sprinkled with cinnamon and baked at 350 for 45 minutes on a cookie sheet. YUM!! (plus the house smells amazing)

What did I Learn? –  Change sucks, I do not do well with change. – Working on it.

What am I Watching? – Avatar the Last Airbender on Netflix. My kids love this show, we used to watch it every weekend together and they just released the animated series on Netflix in anticipation of the upcoming live-action series. So excited…anything will be better than the awful movie!

What am I Reading? - Unspeakable Things by Jess Lourey – It is the mid-eighties, and you are thirteen-year-old girl with dreams, hopes and wishes. On Friday nights you watch Dallas and the Duke’s of Hazzard. Sunday’s rock because the movie of the week is on and you will finally get to see The Empire Strikes Back, and you covet the popular girl’s chocolate Cookie lip gloss. You also either sleep under your bed or in your closet for fear of you Dad coming up the stairs and into your room. You are surrounded by adult whispers, strange parties and red ruby strawberries waiting to be picked except they are in the yard of the creepiest guy in town. It’s all relative, right? Then boys in your school start getting attacked, go missing. What better way to spread your wings than solve the town mystery?

What am I Listening to? – Lady Antebellum. L.O.V.E. & myself talk into a camera as I edit the first episode of Romine’s Reviews!

What Quote am I Pondering?
– It was the best of times, it was the worst of times… this is oddly poignant for present day.

What am I Researching? – Hephaestus the Greek God of Fire. – Yes, Zack had an English research paper and Mom needed to help. Have to admit, the story is fascinating and conjures all kinds of ideas. A crippled God, cast out by his family, reclaims his right through ingenuity and hard work. The God that cannot fight, creates armor for the Gods who can amplifying their stories beyond belief with weaponry unknown to mortals. Why have I not heard of this dude before?

Yummy Meal of the Week – Subway BLT – YUM! Add the guacamole. Do it!

What did I Learn? – Waking up at 4 AM is difficult. Really, really difficult.

What am I Watching?
– Raising Dion and Extraction on Netflix. Loved one, hated the other.
