Television A- Z – The BadAss B’s - Part Four

So this is my version of the A to Z Challenge. I am listing the shows having the biggest impact on me, not necessarily the best shows in each category. I thought they were the best when I was watching them.

See the whole list of B's Here!

The Blacklist (2013- )

A highly articulate, erudite and intelligent businessman and mastermind, "Red" Reddington, has allegedly been on the "10 Most Wanted List" of various U.S. law enforcement agencies for over 20 years. The legend is that Red is as elusive as he is clever, controlling a labyrinth of creative enterprises, coupled with uncanny ability to gather and finesse information at the drop of a hat. On the first day at FBI for a new female profiler fresh out of Quantico, Red offers to bandy wits with the FBI. Red promises to deliver various criminals and plots previously unknown to any branch of law enforcement... and all Red requests in return is to choose his muse. Written by LA-Lawyer

Stars: James Spader, ,

So I will admit it took me a little while to get on board with The Blacklist, once I did I was hooked. To be honest, the appeal to me was the love/hate between all of the seriously flawed characters. From Liz and Reddington to Liz and hubby-ex hubby-hubby again – Tom. Back and forth secrets abound throughout the show.  Probably my favorite aspect of the show is, of course, Reddington and all of his elegance.  To have to gobs of money he has and be the fixer he is would be an incredible life – you’d think. Maybe not so much.

Great writing, one of my all-time favorite speeches about suicide, direction, and acting all balled into an action packed suspense driven show that will remain timeless for years to come.

You can catch The Blacklist on Hulu, Amazon, and

Blindspot (2015- )

A woman with no memories of her past (Jane Doe), is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map of her tattoos into a larger conspiracy of crime while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity. Love this show! Original, out of the box, exciting, plot driven and well acted this ensemble drama has everything a girl or guy could want. You are involved, engaged and enthralled. The hour always goes by too fast, and you are left wanting more. Blindspot will be on my shelf of must-see favorites for years to come. I will probably rewatch the show several times in the future.  A hit by NBC I simply adore it. If you have not watched, please catch up this summer and tune in this fall!

You can watch Blindspot on, Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix

Bones (2005-2017)

Brilliant, but socially inept, forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperence Brennan works at the Jeffersonian Institute in Washington DC. After consulting on an FBI case, she is approached by cocky yet charming Former Army Ranger turned Special Agent, Seeley Booth to help the Bureau solve crimes by identifying human remains that are too far gone for standard FBI forensic investigations. Brennan's empirical, literal view of the world causes friction with Booths emotive, instinctive attitude creating a volatile relationship. However as their case load increases the symbiotic partnership produces results, and with the support of Brennan's Squint Squad, murderers, past and present should be on the look out. Bones, while not the most amazing show ever kept our attention for 12 years! Part of that is due to the on screen never ending chemistry between Bones and Booth. So much, so Bones (aka FOX) did something few other shows have done and survived—they married the two characters and had kids! Shocking I know, but a Shipper’s dream come true! I will admit it was amazing to watch and refreshing to see the character couple after the happy ending. Fun to watch, lots of gross-out factors, weird science, and action. Quirky characters and good drama. Loved Bones and thus added it to the list of Badass B’s!

Tune in next week for the final list of Badass B’s!
